Now, millions of people across the globe have been vaccinated which is bringing us all closer to the day when the world would breathe free without the confines of lockdowns and masks. While many are waiting for their dose of Covid vaccination, here is a list of a few dos and don’ts after you get your Covid vaccination.

There is no need to panic about post-vaccine side-effects

If you experience certain flu-like symptoms such as fever, body aches, then don’t be scared; it is completely natural. These things simply mean that your immune system is working towards building resistance to the virus. But it is not important that you must feel all these side-effects; some people have anadequate immune system even without experiencing side-effects.

Take it easy, stay hydrated and if fever spikes up, then take fever reducer medicine

Experts suggest that resting and sleeping helps your immune system to get working. And try to stay hydrated and replenish the fluids in your body as it helps you get rid of all the sideeffects. And if you feel your fever is increasing, then do not hesitate to take a fever reducer such as paracetamol. But if you don’t feel any better even after some days, it is wise to consult the doctor.

Avoid using the arm with a vaccine shot for a few days

You could experience soreness in your arm muscles after receiving your vaccine shot. Doctors and health experts advise giving that arm some rest and do not lift-heavy weights. But do some simple stretching exercises to relieve pain. You can also relieve arm muscle pain by applying a cool, clean, wet washcloth over the area.

Do stay back for monitoring immediately after getting, vaccination

After getting vaccination, do stay back for monitoring for at least fifteen minutes. It is done by medical practitioners to see for any immediate side-effects or reactions. Do not worrythis is extremely rare for someone to have any severe reactions.

It is very vital to remember that even after getting vaccination you should practice Covid protocol and wear a mask in public. Remember, the pandemic is still not over.
