Sentinelese Tribe of North Sentinel, Andaman
The Sentinelese tribe is one of the most unfriendly and hostile communities in the whole world. The 60,000-year-old tribe lives in the North Sentinel Island in Andaman, and the Indian government has banned tourists and visitors from going near the tribal community as they are not civilized. They have very little idea about what lies in the outside world, while the outsiders have very little understanding of their language. The world was surprised when the entire tribe survived the wrath of the Tsunami that devastated the island in 2004, claiming thousands of lives.
Asaro Tribe, Papua New Guinea
It was only in the 20th century that the world found out about the existence of the Asaro tribe. Until then, Asaro people were infamously known for terrorizing residents from the nearby region and villages with scary mud masks. The people of this tribe are also known as ‘Mudmen’ in Papua New Guinea, and they reside in a village called Goroka in the province of Eastern Highlands.
Maasai Tribe, Tanzania and Kenya
The Maasai Tribe of Tanzania and Kenya is another ancient community that has survived successfully. Maasai men from their childhood to adulthood are taught to be responsible protectors of the tribe. It is their duty to protect the women, the livestock, and the animals while providing for their families. The fathers and other male senior members of the families mentor the young boys during their childhood to teach them various ways of caring for their people and to become successful warriors.
Kazakh Tribe, Mongolia
This hunter tribe of Mongolia is the descendants of the Mongolic, Indo-Iranian, and Turkic groups. The people of this tribe excel in eagle hunting and largely rely on their herds and clans. The Kazakhs pray to fire and sky and also believe in the existence of evil spirits. They like to live with their community and do not mingle with the outside world.
It is startling how these tribal communities have been thriving since ancient times without any known contact with the outer world.
