It’s true that nepotism exists here just like it exists in all fields, be it politics or business. In the long run only talent matters and not all nepo-kids can become a Hrithik Roshan or a Ranbir Kapoor. Here is the list of starkids who didn’t get success in their acting career but now are successful entrepreneurs.
Uday Chopra
Uday Chopra is the son of producer-director Yash Chopra and the younger brother of Aditya Chopra who made his acting debut with Shahrukh Khan starrerMohabbatien.
Uday Chopra started his career as an assistant director in his home production movies DilwaleDulhaniya Le Jayenge and DilTohPagal Hai and made his acting debut with Mohabbatein. The film was a big success and he worked in numerous movies including Dhoom, Neal ‘n’ Nikki, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, etc. But his acting career never took off barring the Dhoom movies, all his movies flopped. Nevertheless, he became a producer and founded YRF Entertainment in LA and has produced two Hollywood movies- Grace of Monaco starring Nicole Kidman and The Longest Week starring Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde. He also works in his home production company Yashraj Films and doing quite well for himself
Twinkle Khanna
Twinkle Khanna is the elder daughter of veteran actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia who made his debut with the hit movie Barsaat opposite Bobby Deol.
Twinkle Khanna made her debut in 1995 opposite Bobby Deol in the RajkumarSantoshi directed movie Barsaat. The movie did quite well at the box office but Twinkle Khanna’s next movies like Jaan, Itihas, and International Khiladi flopped at the box office. Even the ShahrukhKhan starrer Badshah tanked at the box office and the final blow to her career was the failure of Mela opposite Aamir Khan. She quit Bollywood for good and married Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and now she is a well-known author and is a successful interior designer also.
JackkyBhagnani
JackkyBhagnani is the son of Bollywood producer VashuBhanani and he made his debut in Bollywood with KalKissneDekha and acted in a few more movies that didn’t do well in the box.
JackkyBhagnai made his debut in 2008 in his home production KalKisnEDekha which was a big flop. After that, he worked in a few more movies like F.A.L.T.U, Welcome to Karachi, Mitro, and Rangrez, all under his father’s production house and all of them except F.A.L.T.U were big duds. F.A.L.T.U did decent business at the box office but his career was over in Bollywood. After his failure as an actor, JackkyBhagnani started producing movies under his father’s banner, Pooja Films and it won’t be wrong to say that he is doing quite well as a producer with hit movies like Coolie no 1 and Bell Bottom
Tusshar Kapoor
Even though Tusshar Kapoor had a successful debut with MujheKuchKehna Hai with Kareena Kapoor, he could not sustain his career for long but today he is doing quite well in his business ventures.
Tusshar Kapoor first appeared in 2001 opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in MujheKuchKehna Hai which was a big hit and Tusshar Kapoor even won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut (Male) that year. But after that, he featured in quite a few mediocre movies that failed to impress the audience or be a box office hit. Even though he played supporting roles in hit movies like the Golmaal franchise, Shootout at Wadala, and The Dirty Picture, but his career never revived from his decline. He then became a producer and produced Akshay Kumar’s Laxmii, under his banner Tusshar Entertainment House and he has a few more upcoming movies under his production.
Harman Baweja
Harman Baweja made his debut in his father Harry Baweja’s 2008 movie Love Story:2050 opposite his then girlfriend Priyanka Chopra but the movie tanked at the box office.
It won’t be wrong to say that Harman Baweja had a dream launch debut in his family’s production banner Baweja movies’ Love Story:2050. He was cast opposite Priyanka Chopra who was his alleged girlfriend then. But the movie failed badly at the box office and his subsequent releases like What’s Your Rashee? Dishkiyaoon or Victory also tanked badly and his acting career was over in Bollywood. But he found his calling in health and fitness and he founded Health Naturel’s, a fitness brand. He is also the owner of a poker team that plays in Raj Kundra’spoker tournament Match India Poker League. Harman Baweja is making quite good money with his ventures.
