Strangest marine mysteries of all times

The tales from the strange and mysterious world of oceans.

The ocean is full of mystery, and that is obvious given the fact almost 70% of the ocean is unexplored. Yes, 70% of the world’s ocean are unexplored and unmapped. So, time and again, the ocean surprises us with not only its grandeur but with the mysteries it carries within. May it be Bermuda triangle, Marianna Trench or the giant squid-like creature that makes you question the existence of Kraken. Here are some of the strangest and fascinating marine mysteries of all times.

Kaz II, the ghost ship.

In the year 2007, a ship sailed from Australia named Kaz II. It has supposedly manned by not one but three sailors. But when it was found, it was moving (its motor still on) with no one on board. And the spookiest part, not only motor was running perfectly but also laptop was powered on, and a table set to perfection trashing any notion of foul play. But what about the crew? Where they vanished? Nobody knows to date.

Marianna Trench.

The deepest point of the ocean, which can submerge Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Though it is known all over the world, the area still remains unexplored (exception of four expeditions). The high-water pressure and sheer depth make it difficult for human exploration. So, there are still we don’t know about the place. Let’s hope technology can make it possible in the near future.

The mysterious Yonaguni monument.

Since its discovery in 1985, theYonaguni monument has baffled experts. It all started with a diver looking for a great spot to observe hammer sharkswhen he chanced upon an architectural marvel underneath the ocean. The area was full of meticulously carved stones, triangles even steps. It looked like a submerged civilization, and many experts even agreed to that. But many experts believe that it could be a natural geological phenomenon. But how is it formed and how it got there still remains a mystery.

The phantom islands

A strange phenomenon has occurred around the world through the years. Several islands thatarewell marked on maps have mysteriously disappeared from the face of the earth. For example, an island named Bermej, which made its way to various marine charts and maps, mysteriously vanished when a team of explorers went to check it out in 2009. Where it went? How can it vanish? These questions still make marine experts scratch their head in disbelief.
