Thai League One: Top Contenders of Season 2021

The new season is in progress with some lesser-known teams putting on tremendous fights!

The Thai League One took off a few days back and in the new ongoing season, a few new teams are putting up impressive shows. Therefore, in this clickbait, we have listed the top contenders of the Thai League One 2021 as per our analysis.

BG Pathum United- Known as “The Rabbits”, BG Pathum United is the strongest contender in our book of thoughts. Much may not agree with us or even laugh at us for giving BG Pathum United the first place, but there is no doubt that the champion team of last year is set to put the stage on fire this season as well. The team may not be as successful as Buriram United, but given that it won its first champions trophy last season and then the Thailand Champions Trophy Cup by defeating Thai FA Cup winners Chiangrai United, BG Pathum United should not be taken lightly.

Chiangrai United- Not much of a big successful team, but Chiangrai United is a club that has recently suffered defeat at the hands of BG Pathum United. The club did not just lose the Thai Champions Cup trophy, but it also could not defend its only league title, which was won by the club in 2019. In short, it is a club that is raring to find salvation.

Muangthong United F.C.- This club in Thailand requires no introduction because, since the inception of the Thai League One, Muangthong United F.C. has picked up the title four times. However, their last title arrived in 2016 and for five long years, they have remained trophyless. Therefore, we expect Muangthong United F.C. to put up a strong fight in the ongoing season. After all, they were the first team in the Thai League One to attain an invincible season. In 2012, Muangthong United F.C. won 25 matches with nine draws and zero losses.

Buriram United- Last but not least, Buriram United must be mentioned, for there is no other club as big as Buriram United in the history of the Thai League One. So far, the club has picked up the champion’s trophy eight times and has finished as the runner-up in several seasons. Not to forget, Buriram United is the only club in the league to have two invincible seasons. The club’s last title arrived in 2018 and therefore, expect a bit of fireworks from the dominating club.
