The fertile land of India besides being a highly vegetative land giving out a multitude of produces is also famous for tea plantations. The land of India produces some of the finest teas in the world, which has buyers from across the country. And for a country of tea lovers, there is no limit to finding the finest and best tea that can’t be found in India. Apart from having a domestic tea market, the teas from India have found their popular way into the international sphere. Here are some tea plantations in India that one must pay a visit.

Glenburn Tea Estate, Darjeeling

Spread across 1,600 acres, the Glenburn tea plantation estate offers a breathtaking view of the Kanchenjunga Mountain Range. An old estate, the main house there is a restored tea planter’s bungalow that has eight well-equipped suites that provide magnificent views of the Himalayas and the Kanchenjunga Mountain range. And the house is designed with Victorian Teak wood furniture. It is just about an hour’s drive from Darjeeling.

KananDevan Hills Plantation, Munnar

Located in the hill station state of Munnar, the tea estate is the first-ever tea museum in the country. Situated in Idukki, the KananDevan Hills Plantation is a dream built on a hilltop that was given on lease in 1877 for tea and coffee plantations. By the 1890s, the estate caught the attention of Sir John Muir, Chairman of Finlay Muir & Company. The estate has been revered for its unique bio-diversity and manicured tea gardens, attracting thousands of tourists every year.

Nilgiri Tea Plantations, Tamil Nadu

The tea estate surrounded by the mountainous Nilgiri Hills is over 100 years old. This is known as one of the best tea estates in India for producing dark, strong, and aromatic tea. Another plus point of Nilgiri Tea Plantations is that unlike other tea plantations in India that are grown seasonally, this is grown all throughout the year. Go around exploring exotic teas and spend a night at the peaceful Tea Nest nestled on the Singara Tea Estate.
