A talented actress giving a mix of comedy and drama

Brittany Murphy was an American actress and singer who rose to fame with her breakthrough role as Tai Frasier in the 1995 coming-of-age teen comedy film Clueless. This film was followed by a few supporting roles in independent films, after which she made her stage debut in a Broadway production. After which came to the life-changing roles of her career, and there was no looking back. However, it is tragic how that she died at the early age of 32, and we couldn't see more of her. Here are a few of her greatest movies ever that once should not miss.

David And Lisa

This 1998 film is an adaptation of a 1962 drama film that was directed by Frank Perry. The story is based on the second story in the two-in-one novellas Jordi/Lisa and David by Theodore Isaac Rubin. The narration revolves around a smart, intelligent young man who is suffering from a mental illness. This illness, among other things, has instilled in him the strange fear of being touched. As the movie proceeds, his illness takes the best of him, putting him in a residential treatment centre. Now here, David meets Lisa, played by Brittany Murphy, an ill young woman displaying a split personality.

Spun

This 2003 black comedy crime drama directed by Jonas Åkerlund is based on three days of William De Los Santos's – one of the screenplay writers of the film - life in the Eugene, Oregon, drug subculture. The story of the film revolves around various people involved in a methamphetamine drug ring and how eventually they all land up in a big soup. The film shot in 22 days, stars Jason Schwartzman, John Leguizamo, Mena Suvari, and Mickey Rourke, besides Brittany Murphyin the supporting role of Nikki. This film gave Murphy the right opportunity to throw her charm and flex her comedy beats hidden inside her.

Zack and Reba

This 1998 comedy and romance directed by Nicole Bettauer stars Michael Jeter and Debbie Reynolds besides Brittany Murphy. Zack and Reba, both young at the prime of their age, are completely unhinged. The reason for their state of being is that these two young people in their respective private worlds are trying to cope with the death of their partners. The film picks up when; both in the process of recovering find new romance with one another.
