Most economical cars available in the Indian market

With India being the fastest-growing country in the world, there is an increased surge in the consumption of infrastructure. Among the many developments supporting mankind in survival in India are the growing numbers of cars. Since the time Maruti Suzuki made a huge market in India, the country has let in many more such cars to make automobiles affordable to the working class of the nation. And in the past decades, the automobile sector has grown drastically in India. So here are some of the cheap cars in India.

Datsun Redi-Go

Starting at a price of Rs 3,97,000, Datsun Redi-GO has two variants – a 0.8L petrol engine and a 1.0L petrol engine. Interestingly, both these engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission. A city car produced by Datsun, it is marketed aiming at the younger crowd of India. The Redi-Go is powered by 0.8-litre BR08 three-cylinder petrol engine coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. In 2017 an additional option of a 1.0-liter BR10 engine was added to the car model. A market evaluation suggests that Redi-Go is lighter, shorter, and has a larger ground clearance than the Kwid.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso

This affordable crossover-style car is ranked as a micro SUV or mini crossover. The features involve STD trim available with driver-side airbag, ABS, front seatbelt reminders, digital speedometer, immobilizer, 13-inch steel wheels, rear parking sensors, speed alert system, VXi trim added keyless entry, LED DRLs, and a digital instrumental cluster among various others. In India it costs Rs 3,85,000. It is another city car that is comfortable for space when it comes to long rides and has enough boot space. The car has a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine.

Maruti Suzuki Alto

This city car has been manufactured for the Indian market since 2000, and it is the first generation car that was essentially an Indian-built version of the fifth-generation Suzuki Alto Kei car. Considering its compact size and family compatibility, besides being sold at an affordable price of Rs 3,25,000, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is one of the topmost selling cars in India. Maruti Suzuki Alto is powered by a 0.8L 3-cylinder petrol engine and is also available with a CNG version. This engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. Its features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, power windows, and keyless entry.

 Other affordable cars in India are Renault Kwid and Hyundai Santro to name a few.
