Marshall Bruce Mather III, or popularly known as Eminem is a rap legend and king of Hip-Hop. He is named as the artist of the decade by Billboard music awards. He has 15 Grammy and an Academy Award in his kitty. Do we need to emphasis more on the fact that Eminem is one of the most influential artists of our times? Here are some of the interesting trivia about him.

1. He was not an ideal student in the school. It is said that he failed three times in ninth standard, before ultimately dropping out.
2. He hates reading books but loves comic books. He was aspiring to be a comic book artist before he chanced upon Hip-Hop.
3. When he began rapping with his high school friend Mike Ruby, he adopted the stage name M&M which are his initials. This later went on to be evolved into Eminem.
4. His first album ”Infinite” was a failure. It sold only 1000 copies. He was criticized by the various disc jockeys who jibed that he should get into rock and roll. This led to him composing songs which had a hint of anger and insanity, which became his signature style later.
5. His second album, however, did fairly well. He developed an alter ego Slim Shady who described his anger, his struggle and his mental instability in his songs.
6. It was “The Slim Shady LP” which brought him to the centre stage. It became the most popular and the sold-out album of the year. Though there was some accusation of Plagiarism on him, but Eminem was here to stay.
7. His album “The Marshall Mathers LP” became the fastest-selling album, breaking Britney Spears and Snoop Dogg’s record.
8. Fun fact: Eminem does not know how to operate a computer! He refuses to learn it.
9. He went on to win an Academy Award for best original song for his semi-autobiographical movie 8 mile. It is a first-ever rap song to win an academy award.
10. He often claims that he has three personalities within him. Eminem, the rapper, Slim Shady, the angry and dark alter ego and Mathew Mathers who he is at the end of the day.
