I, Tonya This biographical film based on the once famed ice skater Tonya Harding saw Robbie essaying the role of Harding to perfection. This 2017 film also stars Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney, Julianne Nicholson, and Paul Walter Hauser. The film revolves around the life of Harding, a competitive ice skater who rose among the ranks of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships but then what her future became when her ex-husband intervenes. The film is loosely based on actual events depicting Harding as a victim and reframing the narrative around her implication in a crime and other criticism of her actions - physically assaulting her greatest rival, Nancy Kerrigan.

The Wolf of Wall Street This 2013 film directed by Martin Scorsese is based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, a wealthy stockbroker. The film efficiently traces Belfort’s rise and descent in life. The movie also stars Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, and Jon Favreau, besides Margot Robbie who plays Naomi Lapaglia – who marries Belfort. And as Lapaglia, Robbie doesn’t fail to stand apart from the enormous cast making a statement for herself.

Z For Zachariah A post-apocalyptic thriller directed by Craig Zobel stars Robbie as a woman living at a secluded family farm who comes across a man with an anti-radiation suit, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film is based on the 1974 posthumously published book of the same name by Robert C. O'Brien. However, the plot in the film differs in a significant way from the book.

Mary Queen Of Scots This period film saw Robbie essaying the role of Queen Elizabeth I putting her in a different frame altogether. The film is based on John Guy's 2004 biography Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart and Robbie plays the cousin of Queen of Scots, played by Saoirse Ronan.
