Getting hired as a government employee is a dream come true for many graduates in the country. 

After completing college, looking for a stable source of income is the next step that we all take. While doing this, most of our minds get fascinated with the thought of government jobs. It is due to their attractive salary package, job security and other benefits. As a result, every year, lakhs of candidates apply for respective competitive exams conducted to hire officials for different government sectors. With this, we can understand that the competition is higher than expected.

UPSC Civil Services Examination gets conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission. The applicants of these examinations get hired as civil servants for different posts, such as Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Administrative Services (IAS), secretariats, tax collectors and others. As an eligibility criterion, the candidate must complete their graduation before appearing in the examination and must be between 21-32 years.

SSC CGL Examination gets conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to hire eligible employees. They handle daily administrative tasks. Some of the known designations are Income Tax Inspector, Assistant Section Officer, Statistical Investigator (Grade-II) and other inspectors. If you are a Bachelor graduate, you are eligible to go ahead with the application form. However, the eligibility criterion under this examination varies with posts. Also, the age limit is 18-32 years.

RRB NTPC examination gets administered by the Railway Recruitment Control Board to hire non-technical staff in Indian Railway. It is a four-tier recruitment process. Firstly, you sit for a computer-based exam; secondly, you need to attempt a tier-II computer-based exam; third is a skilled text; lastly, you will have document verification and medical tests. The eligibility criteria for attempting RRB NTPC are: 12th qualification/ Any Degree and age limit is between 18-30 years.

IBPS Clerk Examination getsregulated by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. It hires employees to work in clerical positions for various public sectors in the country. Candidates appearing for this examination must be between 20-28 years and have completed their graduation from any government recognized university in India.

Central Teachers Eligibility Test, also known as CTET gets administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is to recruit teachers for different government schools in the country, such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Army Schools. The eligibility criteria for filling the application forms are 12th pass/ graduation with a minimum of 50% and above 18 years.
