  1. The inspiration behind Aladdin was none other than Tom cruise
The character of Aladdin was inspired by the 90s heartthrob Tom Cruise. This physical appearance was distinctively like Tom Cruise. That chiselled face, gorgeous smile, silky and straight locks and a cocky demeanour were quintessential Tom Cruise.

Many key things were edited out in the editing of the animation. One of the key characters who was missing from the movie was Aladdin’s mother. Though she featured along with an important soundtrack in the original script, then makers left out the whole mom inspiring son to make the right choices in life.

As the filmmakers got rid of the mother-son angle in the movie, a major song “Proud of your boy” was edited too from the film. The song, however, makes an appearance in the musical. Aladdin’s opening song “Arabian Nights” was edited due to some controversial lyrics.
