Connaught place is the heart of New Delhi as it is situated in the center of the capital. Officially it is called Rajiv Chawk which is happen to be a crowded place in Delhi and one of the most crowded metro stations. The structure is the heritage building of the land, built in the Georgian architecture style in early 20th century. It was named after the 3rd son of QueenVictoria.
It is a place where the soul of every Delhiite exists and an iconic landmark in Delhi. It has inner circle and outer circle of the buildings. It is a hub of restaurants, cafes and different markets, also it provides amazing street side food too. Still, there are things you probably don’t know about Connaught Place and here are few of them.
Palika bazaar – Palika bazaar is the India’s first underground and air conditioned market. It is located between the inner and outer circles for cheap clothes and shoes. Now, it is also famous for the cheap electronic products. Here, one can shop all the item likes clothes, shoes, jewellery in an affordable prices.
Restaurants – You may find all the famous restaurants at one place in the heart of Delhi. Bengali sweet house, haldirams, burger king, Mac Donalds, behrouz biryani, nirulas, wok in the clouds and many other such places are there. You can choose to visit them as per your choice and mood.
Night life of Connaught Place – There are number of bars and pubs at CP. Lord of the drinks, imperfecto, my bar headquarters, junkyard cafe and many such places are there to thrill your mood. Amazing cocktails, interiors and happening music is all set there to make night life fun and frolic.
Agrasenkibaoli – There are innumerable heritage structure in Delhi. Agrasenkibaoli is one of them which were built by King Agrasen which was derived from Ugrasen. It is an ancient stepwell, the primary purpose of it was to preserve water. The well has been dried up and now it is a tourist spot. The long list of haunted stories is attached to this place. Story like the water inside the well is said to hypnotise the people and allure them to commit suicide. No one knows how true that is as no suicide has been reported there till now.
