Times Virat Kohli has been dismissed for a duck twice in a series

Virat Kohli has been dismissed for a duck twice in a series on just two occasions, both times against England.

vs Eng 2014 (Liam Plunkett, James Anderson) Virat Kohli sustained a horror run on India's tour of England in 2014 and could manage just 134 runs from 10 innings of 5 test matches with the best of 39 as he finished the series with a career-low average of 13.40.

In the series, he was dismissed twice for a duck, both times against pacers. The first instance occurred when Liam Plunkett got the better of him while the second time James Anderson dismissed him for nought.

Anderson proved to be the nemesis for Kohli in the series and the right-hander appeared to be a sitting duck in front of the veteran pacer.

vs Eng 2020/21 (Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes)

Virat Kohli did not have a great start to the recently concluded test series against England and was dismissed for 11 in the first innings of the first test match at Chennai. He scored 72 in the second innings of the first test but it was too late by then and India had already all but lost the match.

In the first innings of the second test, with India having won the toss and batting first, runs in the first dig were equivalent to gold. However, Kohli tried to cover drive a brilliant off-spinner from Moeen Ali which pitched outside off and went through Virat Kohli gate to hit the top of off stump.

Kohli had a bamboozled look on his face and stood his ground. The umpires had to refer it upstairs for confirmation and the replays showed that the ball had clipped the off stump, only after which he walked off.

In the third test, he made 27 in India's first innings in Ahmedabad and did not get to bat in the next innings, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill doing the job for India, to take the team to a 10 wicket victory.

In the next test in Ahmedabad as well, India batted just once, courtesy of the heroics of Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma and Washington Sundar. Koli got a snorter first up from Ben Stokes.

The delivery bounced quite high from back of a good length and also seamed away as Kohli ended up edging the delivery to wicket keeper Jos Buttler and was dismissed for a duck. This was only the second time in his test career that Kohli was dismissed for nought twice in a test series.
