Tips to pack your bags for solo trips

Mostly, solo travelling tops the many bucket lists, but not all can leave for one successfully. 

If it is the first time planning a solo trip, this is the right place for you. Solo travelling comes with self-responsibility and self-awareness. Firstly, pack your bags with all the essential items. Packing light isn’t as important as packing right; be prepared for most situations that might come your way.

Therefore, we have made this list of items to help you pack smart for the upcoming solo trip.

Luggage Bag: Don’t go for fancy luggage bags available in the market; instead, select the one with enough capacity. You can go for backpacks, as they are traveller friendly, come with padded straps and gets carefully manufactured to survive rough conditions.

Portable Power bank/ Universal Charger: When travelling solo, one cannot afford a dead electronic device, especially your phone. So, carry a portable charger to avoid such situations. The universal charger will help charge your devices irrespective of the plug types available in different countries.

Snack items: You might not find a restaurant/café at every corner you visit, so keep your snack items handy. Carry ready-to-eat or packaged food items- cup noodles, chips, biscuits, cupcakes, puffed rice and others.

Water bottle and water purifier: Staying hydrated is important for safe and healthy travels. Therefore, don’t forget to carry a water bottle with enough capacity. You can find various travel bottles available in the market, out of which you need to keep the one that is easy-portable, leakproof and durable. Similarly, you can find water purifying tablets from the nearest medical stores too.

Water-resistant jacket/raincoat: While travelling, you must always prepare yourself to face different weather conditions. Raincoat or waterproof jackets can help you during rain and snowfall. Get the one that is lightweight and takes minimum bag space. Also, carry an umbrella as an alternative.

First-Aid Kit: One must not leave for any travel expedition without packing the portable medical kit. In the kit, carry band-aids, gauze pads, antibiotic ointments, painkillers, cold and fever medicines, repellent creams and others.

Toiletries: Maintaining hygiene is very important, especially when travelling outdoors. Carry the usual toiletries items, such as quick-dry towels, brush, paste, soaps, sanitiser, cleansing lotion, sunscreen, moisturiser and others.

Miscellaneous items: Padlocks, rope, torch, extension cord, etc., are included as miscellaneous items. These items are essential that comes in handy in case of emergency.
