Long haul flights are one of the reasons why people avoid travelling. It is more like being trapped in a breathable metal tube and floating in the sky for hours. It can be uncomfortable, especially if you aren’t a frequent flyer. However, long haul flights don’t need to be a miserable experience every time because we have got you covered.

Here are some tips to prevent uneasiness during long flights.

Book your tickets beforehand and do not rely on last minute offers or discounts. By doing this, you might get to pick a comfortable seat of your choice. It also helps you relax and have peace of mind before travelling.

Wear your comfy clothes because travelling in fancy clothes might feel uncomfortable with time. Of course, long flights aren't the place for you to flaunt the outfit you bought, but it is more like choosing comfort over fashion. Instead, pick some neutral or loose-fitted materials to help yourself against deep vein thrombosis. It is a condition that occurs if the body sits in a cramped position for a longer time. Therefore, experts recommend wearing compression shocks to decrease the risk of blood clots.

Carry a travel/neck pillow, eye mask and earplugs to spend those long hours comfortably. You will receive a little package containing woolly socks, earplugs, toothpaste and other items. However, the quality might be a concern. Therefore, it is best to invest in good quality products beforehand because they last for more than one flight.

Respect the necessities- food and water because you need to fulfil your hunger and thirst. When you are on the ground, you can quickly run for affordable options. However, this isn’t the case while flying. Therefore, you must pack your favourite snacks that will keep you feeling full for a long time-nuts, chocolates, crackers, protein bars or home-cooked snacks. Also, the humidity level inside the aeroplane decreases constantly, causing dehydration. So, do not forget to keep yourself hydrated to avoid skin dryness and worse jet lags.

Try having a conversation with your seatmate as you might not spend your entire journey looking into the phone, reading a book or sleeping. It is good to maintain a friendly and respectful glance with everybody around. You must make sure that your actions aren’t causing any disturbances to your fellow passengers. While spending hours on a flight, you might end up making a new friend and learning about their life stories. These can turn these tiring travel scenes into fun ones.
