A heartfelt and thought-provoking sci-fi film, the story revolves around a couple whose deeply engaged relationship ends in a debacle leaving both of them heartbroken and destroyed. Both seek out a company to help erase their memories of one another. The movie’s focus and exploration of the universal idea of love are as compelling today, as it was during the release in 2004.
Midnight Special
An underrated indie- sci-fi film, Midnight Special is the story of a father who is compelled to go on a run with his son, who has special powers. The relationship of the duo is tested when the government and a cult chase them down. While the entire plot sounds like a superhero movie, the director/writer has treated it in a realistic and grounded manner giving you a character-focused movie with minimalist visual effects and giant set pieces.
What Happened to Monday
This sci-fi film is set in the future when an armed and dangerous federation army imposes a strict one-child policy. There is a group of identical septuplets, named after a day of the week, who attempt to live a single life as one. But when Monday suddenly goes missing, they must find out what happened to her while attempting to stay alive in society.
Snowpiercer
Long before Parasite, Bong Joon-ho made his debut in Hollywood with Snowpiercer. The story follows a perpetual-motion luxury train that carries the only survivors post a climate change catastrophe. Watch the movie to find out what happened when the poorest residents of the train living in the caboose plan to take over the engine room. It is a gripping thought-provoking movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
