#1 Only captain to win all three ICC Trophies

He is the only captain to lead his team to victory in all three major ICC tournaments. He won the 2007 World Cup T20, 2011 Cricket World Cup and the 2013 Champion’s Trophy.

#2 Most stumpings in ODI history

He is the first wicketkeeper in ODI history to affect over 100 stumpings. In 439 international innings he played behind the wickets, MS Dhoni managed 195 stumpings across all formats.

#3 Most sixes hit by a Captain in International Cricket

India's former skipper MS Dhoni holds the record for hitting the most sixes in international cricket as captain. Dhoni led Indian cricket team in 331 matches across all formats, hitting 211 sixes as skipper. He is followed by former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who played 324 matches as captain and hit 171 sixes.

#4 First Indian to 10,000 plus runs at a 50-plus average

MS Dhoni was the second wicketkeeper in the history after Kumar Sangakara to achieve this feat of 10,000 plus runs in International cricket. Even after a year since his last game, he remains the only cricketer to touch 10,000-run mark by playing at number 6 or below in all formats.

#5 Won most games as a Captain in ODI matches

Leading the Indian cricket team to most thrilling victories under his captaincy, MS Dhoni has a win percentage of 59.52 in the ODI matches. Out of 200 ODI matches captained by him, Indian cricket team has emerged victorious on 110 occasions. Dhoni is only behind the Australian skipper Ricky Ponting who has 165 ODI wins to his name.
