Top Car Manufacturing Countries in the World

While several countries are into car manufacturing, the mentioned countries in this feature have left everyone behind as they are the largest manufacturers in the world

As we are well aware, the car industry is a massive industry with millions of cars being manufactured every year by numerous countries to cater billions of people around the world. However, some countries are considered the automobile hubs of the world. From cheap skilled labours, availability of land and resources to the easy setup of manufacturing plants; these countries have everything in abundance because of which they have thousands of car manufacturing plants. In this piece, we have compiled a list of such countries that manufactures the maximum number of cars in the world.

China- China is the largest producer of cars in the world. The recent data is not available, but as per data from 2019, the Asian car manufacturing country produced 25,720,665 vehicles in a single year. Out of 25,720,665 units, 21,360,193 units were cars that were meant for personal use. In terms of commercial vehicles production, the country manufactured 4,360,472 units. Not to forget, China is also the largest electric vehicles producer in the market which comprises not just cars but other vehicles such as motorcycles, scooters and buses to name a few.

United States of America- The second place on the list is held by the United States of America. The country produced 10,880,019 vehicles in 2019, out of which 2,512,780 were cars. Indeed, the numbers of the United States of America are significantly less when compared to China. However, in the commercial vehicles production space; the United States of America produced almost twice the number of vehicles produced by China in 2019. The total number of commercial vehicles that were produced by the States in 2019 was 8,367,239 units.

Japan- Third on the list is Japan that produced 9,684,298 vehicles in 2019. Out of 9,684,298, 8,328,756 vehicles were cars. If calculated, around 10.5 per cent of vehicles for the world was manufactured by the Asian country of Japan in 2019. Moving onto the production of commercial vehicles, the country produced 1,355,542 units in 2019. In 2017, the country exported around 4.71 million vehicles whereas, in 2018, the number increased to 4.82 million vehicles.

Germany- Last but not least, the fourth place is secured by the country of Germany which has some of the biggest car brands in the world such as Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen to cite a few. In 2019, Germany produced 4,661,328 cars.
