From Kawasaki to BMW, the Indian motorcycle industry offers a wide range of premium motorcycles that are on-point in terms of build quality and power output.

The last decade has witnessed the Indian automobile industry hitting a new high as several foreign manufacturers began to offer premium motorcycles that were never seen in India before.

Go back to 2008 or before, and all we had were motorcycles in the 100-150cc (cubic centimetre) segment. However, going on motorcycle trips or flaunting fast engines became a new hobby and India saw a surge in demand for higher cc motorcycles. Presently, we have it all. From 500cc tourer to 1,200cc supersport, name it, and it’s available.

Kawasaki Ninja 400

The green demon from Japan is a fully-faired sports motorcycle that derives its power from a 399cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that offers 48.3hp at 10,000rpm of maximum power and a peak torque of 38Nm at 8,000rpm. It can hit a 100 kmph mark in just 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 159kmph.

Harley-Davidson Street 750

This one here is a humble tourer from the neighbourhood of Milwaukee, America. Sadly, this tourer won’t be available in India anymore since Harley has decided to leave the Indian market. However, this motorcycle’s legacy forces us to add it in this list. The Street 750 is equipped with a 749cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled V-twin engine that produces 59NM at 4,000rpm of maximum torque. It offers a fuel tank of 13.1 litres and can reach a top speed of 177kmph.

BMW G 310 GS

BMW is known for its business strategy, and hence, they came up with the G 310 GS-an urban off-roader for street rides and occasional off-roading. The motorcycle is powered by a reverse inclined 313cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that churns out 33.3hp of maximum power and 28Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle is capable of hitting a top speed of 143kmph.

Benelli Leoncino 500

An outright street-focused scrambler, the Leoncino 500 is the new kid on the block. Offering a vintage look, this scrambler is powered by a liquid-cooled, inline dual-cylinder, DOHC engine with a power output of 46.9hp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 46Nm at 6,000rpm. In terms of top speed, it can hit a whopping 181kmph.
