Top Movies of Al Pacino Where He Gave His Best Performances (Part II)

Just a single story is not enough to tell about the top movies of Al Pacino where he gave incredible performances. So, continuing from the first part, here are few more movies of Al Pacino which any movie lover should not miss at any cost.

Heat

Heat is a 1995 crime drama where two legends of Hollywood, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro came together for the first time. Just the casting is enough to make this movie a must watch.

Though both Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were part of the iconic The Godfather series, they didn’t actually worked together in that movie and don’t have a single scene together and it was Michael Mann directed Heat that brought the two legends together for the first time. Though many consider Heat to be an underwhelming movie but it can be watched just to watch two iconic actors performing together in a movie.

Glengarry Glen Ross

Glengarry Glen Ross had one of the best ensemble casts ever with Al Pacino,Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, Jonathan Pryce, and Alan Arkin shared screen together.

Glengarry Glen Ross, directed by James Foley and the script is by David Mamet is drama movie about a despairing group of New York City real estate agents who are needed to take part and compete in a unsparing sales contest where the losers will be fired be fired. It had an ensemble cast and as usual Al Pacino gave an impeccable performance for which got nominated at the Oscars for the Best Supporting Actor Award.

Carlito’s Way

Carlito’s Way was directed by Brian De Palma who earlier directed the classic Scarface with Al Pacino. Here Al Pacino played a former gangster who is out of jail after serving his time there and now wants to quit his former work.

Carlito’s Way got underwhelming response from the audience and critics who started compared this movie with Scarface which was quite unfair. Both movies were set in different worlds with different stories, characters and totally different tone. While Scarface was a celebration of masculinity, Carlito’s Way is a subtle movie about a former gangster who now wants to leave this dirty business and live a normal life but his destiny never let him go.  Al Pacino gave an incredible and layers performance here as an ageing gangster who wants to go straight.

Oceans Thirteen

Oceans franchise is an ultra-cool robbery action drama trilogy directed by Steven Soderbergh with some of the biggest names in Hollywood coming together. Al Pacino features in the third and concluding part of the trilogy.

Steven Soderbergh’s third movie in the Oceans trilogy features Al Pacino as Willy Bank, a casino owner who double-crosses a member of the titular team of con men. Along with Pacino the movie also stars big names from Hollywood including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon etc. Oceans thirteen is not a critics’ favorite, serious kind of movie but it’s a stylish movie with cool action set pieces with big names and quite an entertaining movie elevated by Pacino’s performance.
