There was a time when the 125cc motorcycle segment was a boring segment. However, people who craved more mileage at an affordable price-tag also dreamt of having a bit of sporty experience. The automobile industry of the world acknowledged the demand and now, in 2022, there is no dearth of 125cc naked sports motorcycles in the world.

Naked motorcycles were limited to higher capacity of motorcycles. However, given the above-mentioned reason, automobile companies began to introduce sporty naked motorcycles in the 125cc segment. Indeed, the 125cc naked sports motorcycles are slightly low on mileage when compared to their boring counterparts. However, they still serve the purpose, i.e., mileage and affordable price-tag. KTM Duke 125, the pocket-rocket

KTM rocked the world with its motorcycles in the 200cc and above segments. Then, the company decided to rock the 125cc segment and therefore, gave birth to the KTM Duke 125; the pocket-rocket. The motorcycle is powered by a 124cc engine that makes a peak power of 15hp and has disc brakes with ABS on both wheels. 

Yamaha MT-125, the street demon from Japan

To be honest, we feel the Yamaha MT-125 is slightly better than the KTM 125. The demon from Japan may not have the ‘R1’ moniker, but it certainly has the pedigree hidden somewhere. Makes the same 15hp power as the Duke 125 but the MT-125 is armed with features such as valve variable actuation, assist and slipper clutch and upside-down forks. 

Honda CB125R, not a naked motorcycle, but deserves a mention

While Yamaha and KTM went for naked streetfighters, Honda tried something different. The company introduced the CB125R that is not a naked streetfighter but a neo-sports motorcycle. In terms of power delivery, the motorcycle is slightly behind the KTM and Yamaha at 14.9hp. However, in the 125cc naked sports segment, it is one of the most premium motorcycles on offer. 

Kawasaki Z125, the green monster from Japan

The first Z motorcycle from Kawasaki was introduced in 1972. It was a 900cc motorcycle but in 2022; we have a Z with a mini 125cc powerhouse. The motorcycle makes a peak power of 14.5hp of power. In this article, the Kawasaki Z125 is the most aggressive looking motorcycle and in terms of features and built quality, one simply cannot point a finger.
