Top Seven Movies of DeepikaPadukone to Binge Watch (Part I)

DeepikaPadukone is one of the top actresses of Bollywood who made her debut in 2007 with the movie Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan. She received Filmfare Best Debut Award (Female) for Om Shanti Om. In her fifteen years long career she gave many successful movies with great performances. Here is a list of seven top movies of DeepikaPadukone to binge watch.

Om Shanti Om (2007) 

Om Shanti Om is a 2007 action comedy movie directed by Farah Khan. DeepikaPadukone made her debut with the movie that starred Shahrukh Khan in the lead. 

DeepikaPadukone’s first Bollywood film, Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan, had her essaying a double role opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan. The film was a reincarnation drama inspired by Bimal Roy’s Madhumati (1958). It was a dream debut for her and she was presented in the best possible way anyone can be. The movie was a super hit and she even won Filmfare Best Debut Award (Female) for the movie.

Cocktail (2011)

Though DeepikaPadukone gave hits in the early stage of her career, it was Cocktail in 2011 that proved her caliber as an actress.

Cocktail featured Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty along with DeepikaPadukone. DeepikaPadukone played the role of Veronica, a happy go lucky girl who falls in love with Gautam (Saif Ali Khan) who is in love with the more desi and homely girl Mira played by Diana Penty. DeepikaPadukone’s performance was appreciated the most in the movie and she was started taken seriously as an actor after Cocktail.

YehJawani Hai Deewani (2013)

YehJawani Hai Deewani was directed by AyanMukerjee and featured Ranbir Kapoor opposite DeepikaPadukone. It also had Aditya Roy Kapoor and KalkiKoechlin in supporting roles. 

The movie starts with the geeky NainaTalwar (DeepikaPadukone) joining her friends Aditi Mehra (KalkiKoechlin), Kabir "Bunny" Thapar (Ranbir Kapoor), and Avinash "Avi" Arora (Aditya Roy Kapoor) on a trip to Manali. Everybody agreed that Deepika looked very beautiful in the movie and acted her part aptly. Anybody would have been crazy not to fall in love with her and Bunny was not an exception. Deepika essayed her character quite well and her chemistry with Ranbir was the best thing about the movie.

Chennai Express (2013)

The Rohit Shetty directed Chennai Express was her third movie with Shahrukh Khan and it was her biggest hit when released.

DeepikaPadukone was at her comic best as the Tamil girl Meenamma in the movie who is running away from her family because they want her to get married to someone she does not like. She meets Rahul on the way and they go back to her native place. How Rahul falls in love with her and both get united in the end forms the crux of the movie. Her scenes with SRK were amazing and quite funny in the movie. With this movie, DeepikaPadukone showed that she can also do comedy quite nicely.
