Top Street Circuits in F1

While most of the F1 fans love racing tracks, there are a small portion of people who prefer street circuits over enclosed tracks.

In the Formula One universe, most of the fans prefer enclosed racing circuits that were built years ago for the purpose of racing. However, a small portion of fans love the idea of F1 cars running through the streets of cities. And to be honest, we fall into that category. Therefore, in the following paragraphs, we have listed our top five Formula One street circuits.

Baku, Azerbaijan

No, our top favourite is not the Monaco street circuit but Azerbaijan’s Baku. The long straight Neftchilar Avenue proves who has got the best engine, whereas the twisties from turn three to turn 12 open up several overtaking opportunities. Not to forget, Baku is one of the most technical tracks in the world and is not every racer’s cup of tea.

Jeddah Corniche

For the unversed souls, Jeddah is one of the newest tracks in the F1 universe that was merely completed a week before the 2021 race. What we love about the track is that irrespective of being extremely narrow and tight, it is one of the fastest tracks in the world. The portion between turns 20 and 27 gives birth to many actions.

Monaco Grand Prix

For decades, the Monaco Grand Prix has been more than a race. It is like a carnival which is attended not merely by F1 personalities but also by celebrities from different industries and millions of tourists. The extremely narrow track prevents racers from overtaking each other. Not to forget, the tight chicanes and sudden change of elevation often lead to accidents.

Miami Grand Prix

Made its official debut this year in Formula One, the Miami International Autodrome wooed us because of the number of twisties between turn 11 and turn 15 followed by a sudden left at turn 16 and then a long stretch till turn 17 which is a hairpin bend. Sounds too technical, right? It is! Too fast, too technical.

Hanoi Street, Vietnam

Much may not remember the street circuit of Hanoi because it was supposed to host a race in April 2020, but unfortunately, it did not. Irrespective of the cancellation and no action, Hanoi is still a favourite because it is quite a peculiar setting with a fast-paced section that looks like a mushroom. If F1 visits Hanoi, we expect tons of action from the incredible street circuit.
