Toughest languages in the world to learn

In how many days can you learn a foreign language?

Well, for most of us, learning a new language becomes a lot of fun. But we don’t actually realize the struggle behind learning those languages. It might seem easy apparently, but when you go deep into their vowels, you realize the dare you’ve committed, and then there’s either winning over the challenge or failing to learn. Here let us see some of the toughest languages to learn.

Finnish

You might think it is more like English, but to break your false notion, Finnish is one of the trickiest languages. Finnish nouns have 15 cases, whereas in English we have 3. The language doesn’t have any German or Latin influence which can help you learn easily. The contemporary Finnish which is mostly used than the modern one, is a lot more difficult to understand, and learn.

Mandarin

The Foreign Service Institute has ranked it as one of the toughest languages to learn for English speakers. The language is full of aphorisms, idioms, homophones, which makes it extra difficult to learn. Even the alphabets are made of elaborative characters. It’s not for someone with less patience.

Polish

The language has 7 different cases, which still might become easy after a while. But the pronunciation of the words is what the people who try to learn Polish, consider to be the hardest part. Some sounds would be new to you, and you’ll find it difficult to pronounce them.

Icelandic

A strange fact about Icelandic people is that they tend to produce new words for some new objects, instead of just adopting a word from the French of English dictionary. One has to stay there in order to learn the language completely. Also, the language has certain unfamiliar letters, which makes it difficult for English speakers to pronounce and learn them.

Korean

Korean in itself is a strange language with complex grammar and a unique set of words. Learning the Korean alphabet is a lot more challenging. However, even if you still learn the language with a lot of practice, the main problem you’ll be facing is in the pronunciation of each word, which will make you go back to your English-speaking skills.

Arabic

Firstly, to learn Arabic you need to develop the habit of reading from left to right. Secondly, the vowels of the language are not included while writing. You will always have to learn the alphabet and grammar compiled of irregular verbs. Learning a new alphabet every time, might make you forget the previous learned ones.

So, are you ready to win the challenge of learning these toughest languages of the world?
