Elliot, a cyber security employee and hacker at night is in the midst of a psychological tornado face Mr Robot who is determined to bring an evil corporation down. Set in New York, the show is less sunshine-y and somewhat dark. It invites a lot of critical thinking.
Inspired by Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock is set in the famous Rockefeller Centre and it can’t get more quintessential New York vibe-y. The comedy follows Liz Lemon and her writers of a show – and the city in itself is a huge part of it.
Elementary is the modern tale of Sherlock Holmes and his partner Joan Watson. While solving cases as a consultant for the NYPD, Sherlock and Joan travel through various neighbourhoods of the city.
Set in The Village, the show follows six friends living a very New York life, meeting up at their usual café Central Perk. The light-hearted comedy is well loved and have had numerous celebrities making cameos in the show.
The cop comedy is quite a catch with its quirky and hilarious take on detective life. Plenty of weird crimes, six detectives in the precinct have their own adventure either with cases or with the precinct drama and a Captain that willingly take part in the comedy that arises.
A genuine take on the lives of people of New York, each with their unique story. Modern Love takes on a myriad of relationship tales – from dating a bi-polar woman to a night owl, following one’s heart to being stuck in a n requited love. It is equally beautiful, sometimes with a heartbreak, sometimes with a happy ending.
