TVS Apache RTR 165RP: Power That's Best in Class

The all-new Apache RTR 165RP makes more power than the fully-faired Yamaha R15 M

TVS has launched the all-new Apache RTR 165RP, an enhanced version of the RTR 160 that makes more power than the Yamaha R15 M. This is the first motorcycle from the company’s Race Performance division and therefore, the motorcycle carries the moniker of RP (race performance). Not to forget, the 1.45 lakh price tag is a lot cheaper than the Yamaha counterpart.

Why is this article relevant to you?

For years, the Yamaha R15 has dominated the 150-160cc motorcycle segment in terms of power output. Therefore, the Apache RP making more power than the R15 M is a piece of exciting news. Also, if you are planning to purchase a motorcycle soon, this new machine from TVS could be your next ride. In the following paragraphs, we have covered several details about the naked beast.

How the new Apache makes more power?

The RP draws power from a new 164.9cc, single-cylinder, four-valve engine that makes 19.2hp at 10,000rpm and a torque of 14.2Nm at 8,750rpm. This power is achieved because of a new cylinder head that has an increased intake of 35 per cent coupled with a twin electrode spark plug. Not to forget, the motorcycle also features new Hi-Lift Hi-Duration cams.

What’s more?

Apart from the revised engine, the Apache 165 features a 240mm rear disc (not found on any other motorcycle in this segment) along with a re-tuned suspension to complement the motorcycle’s sporty avatar. It also features a race-tuned slipper clutch, adjustable brake and clutch levers and a brass coated chain drive and sprocket. Being a special motorcycle, it is launched in the blue-red-white TVS racing livery.

How to get your hands on the new beast?

If you are planning to purchase the motorcycle, visit this link (https://www.tvsmotor.com/Book-Online?118)immediately and book the motorcycle. Why? Because the RP is a limited-edition motorcycle and TVS will manufacture only 200 units. In short, only 200 people in India will have the honour to ride this motorcycle. The 165 is available on a first-come-first-serve basis and therefore, it is imperative to book the motorcycle right now if you are looking to have one.

Last but not the least, here’s what TVS said

“The RP series features race machines that are a cut above the rest, crafted with a singular purpose of delivering blistering performance and dominating the race track & road. Born of racing lineage, the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is the first product under the Race Performance series product portfolio,” said Meghashyam Dighole, the Head of Marketing Premium Business at TVS.
