Types Of Dark Spots And How To Eliminate Them For Good

When your skin generates too much melanin, it causes dark patches called hyperpigmentation. This causes darker blotches or patches on your skin than the surrounding regions.

These spots are most often seen on the face, legs, and arms. They may also occur as a consequence of too much sun exposure. They're normally innocuous, although they might indicate an underlying skin disease in rare circumstances.

What Are The Different Types Of Dark Spots?

Melasma – This occurs due to hormonal fluctuations in the body. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation – It is caused because of skin issues like acne or burns. Lentigines – Caused due to excessive sun exposure, this condition is more common to occur in elderly people.

What Causes Facial Dark Spots?

Excess melanin production in specific places of your skin causes dark patches or hyperpigmentation. Melanin is a pigment generated by your body and is responsible for the colour of your hair, eyes, and skin.

Dark spots may be caused by a variety of factors, including:

Daily exposure to the sun's rays might cause black spots to form on your skin. This is because it boosts the formation of melanin on your skin's surface.

Hyperpigmentation may also be caused by hormonal abnormalities. This, in turn, might cause black patches to form on your skin.

Increased melanin production may be caused by some medicines such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), psychiatric drugs, and tetracyclines.
