Types of winter fruit and their health benefits

Winter is here!!! And it is the most magical time of the year where you can enjoy nature in different ways.

Just like we enjoy nature, the things that nature offers in the winter are also quite luring and they are often beneficial. Most of us like to enjoy nature sitting in a blanket but have you given a thought that this might not be good for your health? But what to do? Nature itself has the answer to it and it answers by giving us delicious winter fruits that have a lot of health benefits.

Oranges tops the list

We cannot imagine winter without oranges and in India we can find different varieties of it. In every household you will find oranges during the winter season. Apart from the delicious taste, it has certain benefits that add to your health. It has vitamin C, fiber, potassium, folate and thiamine that make it a complete package. The vitamin C in it helps you to make your immune system strong and it is also said that eating oranges reduces the chances of cancer and kidney diseases.

Very berry strawberry

Strawberries are my personal favorite and, in the winter, you can find it in abundance. The sweet and sour taste of the berries not only packs a flavor, but also packs a number of nutritional benefits. Folate, manganese, potassium, vitamin C and antioxidants are heavily loaded in every bite of a strawberry. The antioxidants present in the fruit acts as a shield against chronic disease like diabetes. Moreover, if you are looking to lose some weight during the winters then strawberries will help you in that case too.

Control your blood pressure with plums

Another fruit that is packed with nutrients and can be found abundantly during the winter season is the Plum fruit. The purplish tart fruit packs nutrients such as vitamins A, C and K, copper, manganese, fiber and antioxidants that helps it to improve the digestion system of its consumers. The blood circulation is also maintained in a well manner which helps to maintain a good heart. The potassium that can be found in the fruit helps in maintaining a steady sodium balance in the body. This therefore helps to lower the blood pressure and reduces the risks of any heart diseases.

If you have these three fruits in your fruit basket in the winter then you are sorted. You will get a flavorful punch as well as vital nutrients to keep you going.
