Ultimae: The Last Lamborghini Aventador
With the limited edition Aventador Ultimae, Lamborghini is ending the production of its pure V12 engine after ruling the streets for more than a decade
In the world of sports cars, the Italian brand Lamborghini is one of the biggest names. Since its inception, the company has given birth to brilliant cars such as Huracan, Gallardo, Diablo, Aventador and more. Not to forget, the company has also given birth to different powerful engines. Sadly, this year, Lamborghini is ending the production of its super-sports V12 engine.
To celebrate the end of the iconic V12 powertrain, the Italian company has launched the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae. The car appeared at the famous Goodwill Festival of Speed and only a few units will be produced and sold. In the following paragraphs, we have drafted more details about the car’s engine, onboard safety equipment, and more.
Powertrain
The newly launched Aventador Ultimae is powered by a 6,498cc, V12, 60 degrees, multi-point injection unit with a bore and stroke of 95mm x 76.4mm. With a compression ratio of 11.8:0.2, the Ultimae makes a peak power output of 780hp at 8,500rpm, along with a maximum torque output of 720Nm at 6,750rpm. The engine of the Ultimae can push the car to a top speed of 356 kilometres per hour, along with a 0 to 100 kilometres per hour run in merely 2.8 seconds.
Safety features
The Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae is equipped with safety features, such as airbags for drivers and passengers, along with airbags on the side. In certain markets, for enhanced safety, the car is armed with knee airbags. Not to forget, the car is also furnished with electronic stability control, ABS and TCS.
Suspension setup and braking
An active pushrod magneto rheological suspension setup at the front and rear handles the suspension duties of the Ultimae. Moving on to the braking capability of the car, the Ultimate features six pistons (front) and four pistons (rear) fixed aluminium monobloc callipers on carbon-ceramic brakes.
Availability in India
Since the car is a limited-edition model, we did not expect a single model to reach the Indian shores. However, a few days ago, an Ultimae roadster variant reached Delhi which means somebody in the country has purchased the car. Last but not the least, at the moment, we know nothing about the car’s price-tag but as per our estimation; it is anywhere between INR 5-7 crore.
