Update the Aarogya Setu app to Get this New Feature

India’s very own contact tracing app Aarogya Setu is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Its latest update has brought in a bunch of new features. Here are the details.

As the fight against the novel coronavirus gained momentum post March, Indian government announced a complete lockdown and took up several other measures to ensure that the citizens stay safe during this pandemic. Introduction of the Aarogya Setu app was one such step.

The app was well received by the nation, and according to latest data, has been downloaded by about 15 crore people. It even received a lot of backlash for storing users’ personal information, an allegation which was vehemently denied. The application basically works by using your phone’s Bluetooth and locations services to check if you have come in contact with any COVID-19 infected person.

The app has colour-coded your risk factors, where green indicates ‘you are safe,’ red means you are COVID-19 positive, orange is for high risk whereas yellow is for moderate risk.

The Aarogya Setu app has now received a new update which offers users a new option “See Recent Contacts.” It allows them to view and assess their Bluetooth contacts and their risk level. “This will enable you to assess your risk. Some BT contacts can be for short durations during travel, some can be when you have masks on without any physical contact. Always important to take necessary precautions and monitor your symptoms,” Arrogya Setu posted on its Twitter handle.

The Aarogya Setu app was initially released only for Android and iOS users but is now available for Jio users on the kaiOS platform.
