Various ways of making drinking water interesting

These few simple ingredients will make your boring plain drinking water tasty

We are aware of the fact of how important it is to drink water on an hourly basis for the healthy and smooth functioning of the body. But more often than not, it becomes difficult for people to consume plain drinking water or even make it a habit to drink water at regular intervals. So instead of preferring drinking soda or coffee over a glass of water, here are ways of infusing your plain drinking water with healthy nutrients and antioxidants that will not only make the water taste better but refreshing as well.

The longer you let these ingredients in the water steep, the tastier and healthier each glass will get. Let the flavors infuse overnight in the water and recharge on it first thing in the morning.

Fresh fruit infused water
Add a bit of fruity excitement to your plain water by infusing the water with fresh fruits. The list is endless, so depending upon your taste and choice Slice and dice grapefruit, strawberries, oranges, along with vegetable slices of cucumber, ginger, and celery with lemon in the water. Try also adding mint, lavender, or basil leaves. You can also try a combination of apple slices, honeydew melon, and a few cucumber peels.

Make it citrus
Just adding a few slices of lemon-infused overnight in the water is interesting but quite boring now. But now consider branching out to other citrus fruits like limes, oranges, red grapefruits along with lemon and few mint leaves. They are not only refreshing but a powerhouse of vitamin C, help in digestion, and reduce fatigue.

Watermelon cubes
This one is a very easy-peasy way of having a flavourful and hydrating glass of water first thing in the morning. Slice the watermelon into cubes and store them in the freezer. Now all you have to do is take some watermelon cubes and pop them in the glass of cold water.

Floral and herb water
This is unique and different from the norm. In water-filled ice-cube cut a few pieces of fresh peppermint, spearmint, and lemon balm. Let it freeze then pop two-three in a glass of water and consume it in the morning as these three herbs are great breath fresheners besides being good for digestion, reducing headache and nausea. The Lemon Balm also helps relieve anxiety.

Sparkling Water
An alternative to the carbonated rich soda fizz, sparkling water is the perfect substitute for your favorite. In sparkling mineral water or soda water infuse fresh lime juice and one part juice of apricot, mango, or guava making for a delicious detoxifying drink.

A few other great combinations of infusing plain water are lemon and cucumber, raspberry and mint, and blueberry and lime. Not only with it boost metabolism but will also flush toxins and elevate mood.
