Villain quotes that make sense

It is not uncommon to feel the villain is making more sense than the hero.

There’s something about a villain who speak the unfiltered truth that gets to us. They seem more aware of the pitfalls of society, the evil in humans, and sometimes they make remarks that hit too close to home.

Not all villains are painted black. Not all heroes are purely white. True, every villain is a hero in their own minds and it is hard to look past their villainess to think of them as people who have been shaped by everything around them to resort to evil. Bring a villain is not just about doing wrong and being evil. It’s about being powerful enough to incite fear but truthful enough to incite sympathy and retrospection on ourselves.

Here are villain quotes that make so much sense.

Alonzo Harris: “To protect the sheep you gotta catch the wolf, and it takes a wolf to catch a wolf and “not what you know, it’s what you can prove.”

Lestat de Lioncourt:“None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are”.

Arnold Rothstein: “All the man’s troubles come from his inability to sit quietly in a room by himself”.

Count Dracula: “Do you believe in destiny? That even the powers of time can be altered for a single purpose? That the luckiest man who walks on this earth is the one who finds… true love?”

Gus Fring: “What does a man do Walter? A man provides for his family. And he does it even when he’s not appreciated, or respected, or even loved. He simply bears up and he does it. Because he’s a man” and "Never make the same mistake twice"

Hans Landa: “I love rumors! Facts can be so misleading, where rumors, true or false, are often revealing”.

Frank Underwood: “There can be no false steps now. The higher up the mountain the more treacherous the path”.

Thanos: “The hardest choices require the strongest wills.”

Voldemort: “There is no good and evil, there is only power and those too weak to seek it.”

Judge Frollo: “You are deformed, and you are ugly, and these are things for which the world shows little pity.”

Ursula:“It’s she who holds her tongue who gets her man.”

Ra's al Ghul: “A vigilante is just a man lost in the scramble for his own gratification. He can be destroyed or locked up. But if you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, and if they can’t stop you, then you become something else entirely… a legend, Mr. Wayne”
