Rejections in life are nothing unfamiliar to anybody. Especially when it comes to job rejections, one often finds themselves thinking of failure. But that is not so. What we do not realize is that often companies may reject candidates simply because they might not need the certain qualifications that you possess. But that does not mean those qualifications are deemed unnecessary. In fact, there can be several companies out there needing your qualifications. Think of a networking opportunity – This is basically one of the most important reasons as to why you should always reply to job rejection emails. Creating professional connections is a great way to advance your career. Always leave a polite response to the rejection email and make sure to stress on your qualifications and keep you in mind for other opportunities in their or any sister companies.

Express gratitude for the opportunity – This is important as the hiring manager will surely take note of it and keep you in their list of future interests even if you cannot get a job for the position you applied. You can thank them for the interview or the phone call and end the email by saying how much you would love to have another opportunity to prove your worth!

Ask for comments and feedback – Rule number one is to not be sentimental. You should make sure to ask for some feedback while replying to a rejection mail. This shows your interest in improvement and self growth. Two qualities that hiring managers always look out for. Respectfully include a line or two asking if your hiring manager could spare a minute or two to give you some comments for improvement.

Show that you are still interested – No, this will not make you look desperate. It is always good to show the hiring manager that you are still interested in the offer if anything opens up. This is in case the chosen candidate rejects the offer and they have it available again. There is absolutely no harm in saying you will be interested in working for them if not for this rolethen for any other suitable role in the future!
