What is RACR's MiniGP Programme?

After training adult racers and moto-enthusiasts for years, RACR will pass on their knowledge of motorcycles and racing to kids

Rajini Krishnan Academy of Competitive Racing (RACR) will host its first-ever racing programme for kids. After training adult racers and moto-enthusiasts for years, RACR will pass on their knowledge of motorcycles and racing to kids who aim to become successful motorcycle racers someday.

What is the importance of this article?

As we have mentioned frequently, the motorsport industry in India is still at a nascent stage. Therefore, kids who dream of becoming a racer fail to achieve their target because neither they nor their families know where to begin from. RACR’s new programme for kids is a brilliant concept that must be adopted by other racing academies in the country.

The MiniGP Programme

The MiniGP Programme scheduled to be hosted by RACR will not take place at the academy. Instead, it will be held across the country where go-kart circuits are present. The young participants will be trained to ride pocketbikes along with MiniGP motorcycles made by Ohvale. For the unversed souls, OhvaleMiniGP motorcycles are ridden by famous MotoGP racers such as Valentino Rossi, Marquez and more.

Apart from learning to ride pocketbikes and MiniGP motorcycles, the young aspirants will be taught about race disciplines along with know-how on and off the track. In short, the programme has been carefully curated by the organiser to enable the kids to enter the world of motorcycle racing easily.

Who can enter the programme?

The minimum age to enter the MiniGP programme by RACR is five. At the moment, RACR has not shared the fees of the programme. However, we have learnt from their official Facebook page that a participant will be able to access the programme via weekly, daily and monthly packages.

Also, the official website of the racing academy has not been updated but to know more about the programme and its details, one can call or text on WhatsApp at 9514600067 or even email the organiser.

Last but not the least, who will train the kids?

RACR is the brainchild of India’s ten-time national motorcycle champion Rajini Krishnan, so he will lead the programme, whereas several established racers such as Sarath Kumar, Jagan Kumar and a few more will act as instructors. Last but not the least, since 2015, RACR has successfully trained over 3,000 racers.
