What would be like to fall into the black hole?

After watching the movie “Interstellar” we are sure you must be curious about how would you have survived in a black hole?

Sorry to disappoint you, but the truth would be starkly different from the movie, there is no way you could make out of that black hole alive. Before we go any further let us brush up on our knowledge about the black hole. Black hole is a place where gravity is so strong that even light cannot escape from there. Because of that, it is quite difficult to locate them because they don’t emit or reflect light. If you want to locate them, then you have to see when it is devouring stars and gas clouds. But refrain from getting too close as then you would be near the point of no return called “event horizon”.

So, suppose that you are able to come close to the event horizon than what?

Ok, let us suppose that you are able to purchase a supersonic spaceship and zoom to the nearest black hole. But to fall and experience a black hole, you have to choose the best one, the simplest and small black holes known as stellar black holes might not let you enjoy the ride and end you even before your adventure begins. But if you opted for a supermassive black hole that is usually at the center of the galaxies then chances are that you will manage to reach the singularity. The result would here also be the same but can also lead to some more mysteries of the universe.

What would you experience while falling into the black hole?

The first thing you will feel is weightlessness, as you fall into the black hole. Let us suppose that your fall with your feet first then your feet would feel the stronger force in comparison to your head. The difference between such forces is known as the tidal force. These tidal forces would stretch you from head to tow which would ultimately rip you apart. Interestingly, this process of stretching is known as Spaghettification. So, in theory, you won’t be able to survive by falling into a black hole. But there are many theorists who believe that you may even reach singularity without being torn apart. If that happens, we might pass through some far end of the universe or even outside of it in the far future. The possibilities are limitless.

But till then listen to science and stay clear of the black holes!
