Napier Museum, a place of art and natural history

Napier museum is a part of the Trivandrum Zoo, one of the oldest zoological gardens in India. It also contains Sree Chitra Art Gallery, an important art gallery situated in 1935. This set of museums along with the zoo are managed by the Department of Cultural Affairs of Kerala. This museum is named after Lord Napier, governor general of Madras. It is famous for its great collection of artistic, cultural and antique objects.  Kerala’s rich culture and heritage are displayed in this museum. It is also called by another name, Government Art Museum.
