Red

Let us start with one of the most basic but also extremely important colours to include in your diet. Red fruits and vegetables, which include strawberries, watermelon, tomatoes, capsicum, apples, etc., have the pigment from a nutrient called lycopene which can help in lowering the risk of getting certain types of cancer. It also reduces the chances of you suffering from hypertension and high cholesterol. It also improves your brain functioning.

Purple/Blue

Coming over to purple and blue foods like eggplant, cabbage, raisins, figs, plums and grapes, these also have numerous health benefits. They have this plant pigment called anthocyanin, which helps in reducing the risk of stroke, heart disease and also cancer. You should also have purple or blue foods to promote healthy ageing and keep those wrinkles and fine lines away.

Yellow/Orange

Probably most eaten and most known are yellow and orange fruits and vegetables because there are big sources of Vitamin C! Oranges, carrots, peaches, squash and pineapple, among other foods, are extremely rich in Vitamin C and can heavily help in boosting the immune system. They are also known to have Vitamin A and potassium in them! So make sure have a good portion size of all the yellow and orange foods!

White

You may think there are hardly any white fruits or vegetables, but there are many! Some of them are banana, cauliflower, potatoes and garlic, which are used commonly almost every day. They have phytonutrients such as allicin which help reduce cholesterol and inflammation. They also help in increasing bone strength!
