Why our affair with Star-Wars Refuse to grow old?

There are two kinds of people in the world – Ones who love Stars Wars and others who don't.  We don't care if you deem it as mediocre, and a flight of our childish imagination, our emotional attachment with this franchise can never diminish.  Even after forty-three years of the release of its first instalment, Chapter IV: A New Hope (1977), this bond has grown stronger and more profound.

It's a Part of Our Existence

Could you imagine a world without Star Wars? Only a true fan would realize the magnitude of this hypothetical situation. There would be no light saber fights, no death star cake for birthdays, absolutely no reference to Obi Wan Kenobi, Master Yoda, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker or Chewbacca or even Jar Jar Binks. The fans would remain forever oblivious to the stories from the galaxy far, far away! Now let's try to comprehend as to why Star Wars franchise is a forever favourite of the fans.

Capturing our Fancy Forever

Ever since the first Star Wars movie released in the theatres, the audience were treated to the futuristic world, which manifested our dreams into reality. The visual effects, superior sound quality, costumes, species from the other worlds was akin to our vision of the outer space and planets. The experiment worked, and the rest is history.  Till date, a total of nine movies have been made out of this franchise and needless to say, all of them have cast their spell on the audience.

The Franchise and its Impact

The cultural influence of Star Wars is visible in the form of countless comic books, figurines, accessories, video games and spoofs. Even on the show like The Big Bang Theory on CBS, all the characters are shown as avid fans of the series which is a reflects the impact of the series over young people of our generation as well. The cast of Star Wars has also gained a cult status over the years. Mark Hamil as Luke and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia are forever etched in the hearts of the fans. Even the name R2D2 and 3CPO are not just computers but a part of pop culture.

If you are initiated into the cult of Star Wars, you shall always remain faithful to George Lucas and his world. And if you have not yet experienced the magic of this superior creation, we are eager to welcome you to the club.
