Well yes! Wind chimes are very beautiful and calming when you look at them. The sound is melodious and pleasant to hear. Different types of wind chimes are there. They evolved with time, like at first, it used to be made of metal tubes or seashells, now it's available in glass pieces, different lengths of bamboo and also pottery fragments. Wind chimes are not only a signature of beauty but also full-fills a lot of other demands.

History of the Wind chimes: China gave birth to this melodious instrument in 3000 BC, though it was not created for instrumental purpose. People used wind chimes to ward off birds from the fields. Huge dried bamboos were used in the beginning to accomplish that. Bells created from pottery are also ancient one. But later people started using metal as the element and the wind chimes became more than just a field saving tool. Hanging wind chimes in Pagodas were important to discard the bad spirits and bring prosperity, wealth and good health. In ancient Roma wind chimes were used for the same purpose but in different names “Tintinnabulum ''.

From China this art form spread to Japan. Japanese people cherished that more than anybody else. They used these bells as a warning sign for disease mainly spread by wind. Later Dutch people introduced glass art to the Japanese, they got hung over the beauty. In Japan, people still use glass after giving them different shades of artistic looks for making beautiful wind chimes. Eventually, wind chimes started sounding like an instrument and without wasting time artists also accepted them as a part of musical society. Tubular bells are made using tubes in different shapes and materials. In order to create the sound of church bells in orchestra the wind chimes are used, they are made scientifically. Suppressing the sound of the tubes partially in various order and hanging them in proper lengths totally changed the tune of a bird warding tool.

Nowadays with the help of a computer huge production is possible. People used their eye of beauty and brain to create melodious and various kinds of beautiful wind chimes. Making a new design and selling them can also be a good business. In recent times wind chimes are used in Churches, Pagodas and also other religious places for good luck.
