Yoga asanas to improve your concentration

Try these yoga poses the next time you are unable to concentrate on your tasks.

There are many benefits to practising yoga regularly. However, certain asanas are especially beneficial to help improve your concentration. If you are struggling to stay focused on your tasks during these uncertain times, yoga can help calm the mind and help you efficiently carry on with your day. Research has found just 20 minutes of yoga a day can do wonders and improve brain function. Give these asanas a try the next time you can't get rid of distracting thoughts.

  1. Tadasana (Mountain Pose)
This pose can help strengthen your legs and improve your posture. Tadasana can help you be more aware of the present moment and balance your breathing. It also offers relief from pain or tension in the body and makes you feel more fresh. Make sure to hold this pose for at least 20 seconds.
  1. Garudasana (Eagle Pose)
Garudasana helps to restore neuromuscular coordination. As you practice this pose, you will notice that your hips and legs become more flexible. It also helps to balance your body and strengthen your muscles. If you feel tight, it can offer a lot of relief.  Hold this pose for a minimum of 30 seconds to get the most out of it.
  1. Vrikshasana (Tree Pose)
The tree pose is simple to do and can do your body a world of good. You can practise this asana first thing in the morning before you have your breakfast. It helps to improve your balance and increase your stamina. It also helps to calm the nervous system. Over time, you will notice it will help improve your concentration levels. Practice this pose for at least a full minute.
  1. Ustrasana (Camel Pose)
Ustrasana strengthens your back and shoulders and helps to give these body parts a good stretch. Give this pose a try if you are suffering from back pain or indigestion. While it may take time to master the pose, if you are a beginner, it will be worth it as it helps to heal and balance the chakras. It will help you better concentrate on your tasks and allow you to have a more productive day. Hold this pose for at least 30 seconds to get the most out of it.
