Annoying things people do on planes

The seat-kicker, the snorer, and the worst of them all – the loud talker, we are looking at you.

Anyone with experience on a flight will agree that sometimes, with bad luck, you get the most annoying passengers. Like that one passenger who fell asleep on your shoulder for a solid three hours. Or the old man who kept kicking your seat. Or the nagging Nancy who moved your overhead luggage to fit all three carry-ons of hers. Being in a pressurised cabin, up in the air, does not leave room for reactions to the annoying behaviours. All you can do is try to talk to a flight attendant and feel the frustration build up.

Here are some of the most annoying things people do on planes.

Armrest hogger: Middle seat passengers know the annoyance when aisle and window seats people use the armrests without considering the fact that middle seat does not have a designated arm rest.

Moves the overhead luggage without asking you

This happens way too often. Overhead luggage space gets filled up pretty quickly. Sometimes, a cheeky passenger moves your luggage from your luggage space to accommodate their luggage. Or in most cases, you might find your cabin luggage space filled which forces you to find the nearest space.

The forever chewer:

The muncher. The eater. The lover of Pringles. The passengers who spent every waking moment on a flight to munch, eat, drink beverages whether to numb the feeling of being in a flight for long hours, or just to be annoying. They chew incredibly loud and the continuous munching is enough to plug in your earphones and never take them off.

Goes to the bathroom too often

People with shy bladder who willingly choose a window seat and needs to get up constantly to use the restroom is super annoying. We get it, you have a shy bladder but why not just choose an isle seat so that you don’t interrupt two passengers the entire flight?

Exhibiting foul odour

Oh, we have all had one. That one passenger who takes off their socks and the stench spreads to rows around them. Sometimes it’s the food they carry, something like fermented veggies or protein that makes other passengers dizzy and puke-ish. Only thing you can do is asking a flight attendant to intervene.

Hog the passage the minute the plane lands

We have all seen this as well. The moment the plane has landed, they are up on their feet. They start taking their luggage out, ignoring the cabin crew’s request to remain seated. They are not only an annoyance but their behaviour is disruptive to other passengers who might have to catch a connecting flight.
