Colombia has two coasts lined with beautiful beaches, making it one of South America's most desirable travel destinations.
Beautiful beaches, blue oceans, and excellent snorkeling may all be found along the Caribbean coast. Cities like Cartagena and Santa Marta, where many of them are located, are hotspots. There are more opportunities for privacy and giant waves on the Pacific shore. Beaches are easy to get to, and you can usually rent chairs and umbrellas to protect yourself from the sun and wind. Located on numerous beaches a short distance from the water's edge, these eateries specialize in fresh seafood and other traditional Colombian dishes.
Tayrona Park
As it is located at the base of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona is a verdant and beautiful environment. In the park, you may find some breathtaking stretches of golden beach and pure water framed by swaying palm palms and towering mountains. Cabo San Juan de Guia, Playa Cristal, & La Aranilla are the park's three most popular beaches, each with unique qualities.
Blanca
The beach of Playa Blanca is easily accessible from the city of Cartagena for a day excursion. Beach trips are a joint hotel-arranged excursion in Cartagena, and for a good reason: they're one of the city's most popular activities and only take 45 minutes by gorgeous boat ride from the dock in the Old City. Located on the island of Baru, this long narrow stretch of white sand beach with crystal blue water and gentle waves.
Palamino Beaches
Palomino is a charming village located a short distance east of Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona. Playas de Palomino is a stunning beachfront area. Blonde sands and palm palms line a beach that runs far to the east & west of the city. In all likelihood, you will have the beach to yourself, as it is nearly always empty. However, be wary of rip currents and keep an eye out for huge waves if you plan on swimming here.
Providencia Beaches
The dunes of Providencia appear like they'd be in Nicaragua on a map, but they're actually in Colombia. The Colombians have clung to all these coral island strongholds for a long time because of the island's pristine beaches and aquamarine seas. These waters provide some of Colombia's most incredible snorkeling and scuba diving.
La Boquilla
La Boquilla lies in the northern part of Cartagena, approximately five minutes via cab from the Old City. The beachgoing scene here is more authentic. Because of its length, width, and flatness, this beach is frequently visited by people from all over Colombia. Kitesurfing is one of the key draws of this beach. Around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, depending on the season, the winds build up here, and that's when you'll find all the kitesurfers out and about. Observing the kiters, even if you don't participate in the sport, is entertaining as they race across the water beneath a canopy of brightly colored kites. It's easy to get a good deal of lessons to learn this trendy sport in Colombia.
Rodadero Beach
At the northern end of a large bay not far from Santa Marta, Rodadero Beach has a long expanse of beach lined with palm trees, hotels, and restaurants. There is always something going on at this beach, which attracts families & Colombians from neighboring Cartagena.
