Prasidh Krishna has carved out a niche for himself for his pace and bounce.
All the surfaces with the exception of Wankhede do not have a lot of pace and bounce. As a result, although Krishna did well in the league stage, he wasn't able to do anything extraordinary.
The way he dismissed Virat Kohli in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022 will be etched in the memory of fans for a long time. Kohli hasn't been doing quite well of late but still he comes to the crease with reputation and the bowlers generally try not to experiment too much against him and keep the ball within the stumps.
Krishna had the audacity and the ability to bowl to his strengths. He delivered a rapid bouncer outside off stump which swung away and Virat Kohli could not do anything but edge it to the keeper.
Plying his trade for Rajasthan Royals, Prasidh Krishna claimed 19 wickets from 17 matches in IPL 2022 at an average of 29 and an economy rate of 8.28
In the few International matches that Krishna has played, he has been quite impressive. With the 2022 T20 World Cup said to be played in Australia, it will be interesting to see whether the team can pull a rabbit out of the hat and take him on the flight Down Under.
Let's wait and watch whether a lot of water has flown under the bridge or whether the team is still looking at somebody like him who can be an x-factor player, particularly in big matches
