We used to love horror movies. They were our go-to choice when we wanted to be scared or jump out of our seats. But nowadays, it seems like horror is no longer as popular as it used to be. Why is that?

Not enough good stories
We don't make horror TV shows anymore because we can't come up with good stories. The well of ideas has run dry and what's left are uninspired remakes and unimaginative sequels. We've lost the ability to scare people and that's a shame. Horror used to be one of the most popular genres on television. Shows like "The Twilight Zone", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", and "The Outer Limits" were must-see viewing for many people. But nowadays, it seems like the only place you can find horror on TV is on cable channels like Syfy or Chiller. Even then, most of the offerings are either cheap reality shows or tired retreads of old ideas.
Small audience
Another reason why people don't make horror TV shows anymore is because the audience for such shows has reduced. There are only so many people who are willing to watch a show that is designed to scare them, and even fewer who are willing to pay for it. It's simply not worth it for most networks. There are a few cable channels that still air horror programming, but even they have mostly moved on to other genres. The days of horror domination on TV are long gone.
Production Takes Time
It takes quite a bit of time to produce a horror TV show. The script has to be written, the sets have to be built, the actors have to be cast, and the entire production has to be planned out. All of this takes time and money. Horror TV shows are not cheap to produce. Another reason why we do not make horror TV shows anymore is because they are not as popular as they once were.
