It is no surprise that first on our list is the famous Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The series started as children books but soon developed into one of the most loved series by everyone. The Quidditch teams and the unique Halloween costumes would never exist if the seven novels were not so enchanting. Once you start the book, the series will surely keep you awake at night for long.

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

A conversation on the fantasy book series is incomplete without a mention of Tolkien and the famous Lord of the Rings series. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

You might have watched or at least heard of the famous Game of Thrones series? With only five of the planned seven books have been published, Martin has created the fictional kingdom of Westeros and Essos. An adult fantasy novel, The Magicians Trilogy follows the story of Quentin Coldwater who attends a secret college of magic in New York. As you progress through the series, you will start to relate to the struggles for meaning and purpose that the characters face in the series. The first book in the series is The Magicians released in 2009.

The Dark Tower by Stephen King

Released between 1982 and 2012, the eight series books are the perfect amalgamation of western, science fantasy, dark fantasy and horror. With a Wild west-esque environment, the main character, the Gunslinger goes on a quest towards a tower, which is both metaphorical and physical. The first book in the series is The Gunslinger.
