Energy Drink VS Coffee: Which is a better form of caffeine?

Caffeine is generally consumed from two drinks - Coffee & Energy Drinks. While there is no denying of the fact that these forms of caffeine are delicious, they have some adverse effects on the health too.

Caffeine is a necessity for many of us. The world is running in 2x speed and to catch up, many caffeine dependent life forms need some shots every now and then. Caffeine is consumed in many ways but largely it is acquired from coffee and energy drinks. These drinks are favourite of every caffeine lover out there but they should not be consumed in high quantities. Which one is a better form of caffeine - coffee or energy drink? Let's find out.

Taste

Coffee has an age old drink and it is made in various forms through number of methods world-wide. Coffee has a rich taste and it traditionally it is consumed by adding water and milk. In many parts of the world, coffee is made without milk. These days, lovers of the drink have started adding various ingredients as per their preference like hazelnut, caramel, toffee, butter, etc. and we have brands like Starbucks selling different types of coffee. On the other hand, energy drinks are fizz based drink that are need to be consumed immediately. Unlike coffee, they are only meant to be served chill. Energy drinks are becoming popular these days, thanks to the marketing done by companies like Redbull which claims to give you 'wings'.

Which one is good for health

Both coffee and energy drinks have large amount of caffeine in them and they should not be consumed a lot. That being said, coffee are a better option because they have less sugar and they are free from any kind of soda. On the other hand, energy drinks contains high volume of sugar which are added to give it a sweet taste and it is a carbonated beverage that is not good for bones and heart. It is recommended for a person to not consume energy drinks as it increases the risk of heart failure. Coffee too is not a healthy option to add in the diet. While it provides the energy to the body, it makes you lethargic in the long run.

Conclusion

You might have observed dizziness in tiredness in your body after 6-7 hours of consuming the coffee or an energy drink. It is because these drinks provide you high amount of caffeine immediately which is slowly consumed by the body. One can have these drinks omce in a while but total dependency on caffeine is not desirable.
