Five Stretchiest Comic Characters With Elastic Powers

While other super abilities get the most fanfare, comic characters with incredible stretchiness possess the extra reach to attack their foes.

Stretchiness or elasticity is often considered one of the best superpowers possessed by any character in comic books. In the world of comics, several characters have elastic power - some can use reshaping abilities while others can stretch their bodies unimaginably long. These villains or superheroes often rely on their elastic abilities to enhance their defence mechanisms and attack their enemies. Here is a list of the five stretchiest comic characters.

Mister Fantastic

Mister Fantastic a.k.a Reed Richards, is the first superhero whose name comes to our mind when thinking about elastic abilities. He is the most popular and easily recognizable superhero with elastic abilities. He can stretch his limbs, neck, hands, and other body parts to great distances.

Ms Marvel

Ms Marvel, a.k.a Kamala Khan, is a comparatively newer character on the comic book scene with elastic abilities. But she has made a huge impact already. The young hero idolizes Captain Marvel, but instead of acquiring her idol's super abilities of flight and strength, Ms Marvel is granted polymorph abilities after undergoing terrigenesis.

Plastic Man

Elastic powers are not meant for superheroes only; some villains have them too. The stretchability of Plastic Man has no limits. Before acquiringthis super ability, Plastic Man was a criminal named Patrick O'Brian who was exposed to a mysterious acid while he and his gang were robbing Cole Chemical. This catastrophic incident made his body unnaturally stretchable and elastic.

Elongated Man

Ralph Dibny, better known as the Elongated Man, debuted in the 1960's "The Flash" #112. Dibny was originally an aspiring cartoonist who drank a concentrated solution of Gingold (a beverage popularly consumed by performers). The concoction, fortunately, reacted in favour of his metahuman gene and endowed him with the power of elasticity. Without the metahuman gene, he would be an ordinary man with no powers.

Rubberband Man

Rubberband Man, a.k.a Adam Evans, is one of the most notable villains from the popular series "Static Shock." His entire body is made of rubber and is a natural foe to the electric powers of Static Shock. While the two characters started out as enemies, they eventually became allies. Rubberband Man can also manipulate his shape and massively stretch out his body.

Who do you think is the most stretchable and flexible character among all?
