Foods you can’t stop eating but you should

It’s pretty much understandable that you can’t stop having them, therefore switch to some healthier versions for the betterment of your health.

Food is a weakness for some people. Like the book lovers who have unconditional love for books, the foodies have that much love for food as well. And this love is sometimes so blind that they are unable to control the desire for food even if they know that this particular food is going to harm their health. Most of these nourishing foods fall under the category of “hyper-palatable” foods. These foods have some harmful ingredients like sugar, sodium, unhealthy fat, and some synthetic ingredients that trigger the reward center of your brain and release some feel-good chemicals to put you in a state of constant craving for that food. The flavor of a bag of potato chips, its aroma, and taste is just incomparable. We can’t stop having it in spite of knowing that it is unhealthy. A list of foods are there like this which we’ll discuss in the following –

Pizza

Pizza comes first in this list because it is probably the love for all and sometimes the craving is so severe that we just can’t resist. But what we forget is that there can be some healthier ways to have it instead of making it heavier with extra cheese and four kinds of meat. If you seriously can’t resist your craving, go for at least the thin-crust veggie version of it, which is comparatively healthier.

Pasta

Pasta is also love which we can’t ignore sometimes. So, the healthier alternative would be using spaghetti instead of flour-based pasta. By using spaghetti, you are cutting down 50 % of the calories. Have it with a simple tomato sauce and nothing else.

Dip

It’s hard to say no if there is this creamy, chunky, or saucy mixture with your favorite finger foods like chips and crackers. No matter if it’s made with sour cream, cream cheese, or stuff that looks like cheese, it’s equally unhealthy but irresistible. Next time if you have the craving, try to switch to hummus to cut down the fat and embrace protein from the chickpeas. Instead of having chips, you can switch to veggies like bell pepper, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, and celery.

Some other junk foods like chocolates, doughnuts, ice creams, and smoothies are on this list as well, which generate happy hormones within us.
