Homemade teething biscuit recipes for kids

When your baby starts to develop teeth, they are most likely to grab anything, put them in their mouth and begin to chew

It's been six months since you had your baby, and you are slowly getting into your routine. Your baby is developing teeth, and it wants to bite anything in front of the hand. As a parent now, you will think of getting your baby teething biscuits from the store, but as a responsible parent, you will think of making teething biscuits at home. You see, the biscuits that you buy from stores might have harmful elements like artificial flavour or preservatives, which we can digest but your baby can't. So here are some simple recipes for making teething biscuits at home.

The ingredients

Generally, when we bake biscuits, we use refined flour, artificial sweetener and flavour. But you are a responsible parent so that you will use oats, so you the first ingredient are the oats. Now you need to add flavour to it. Refrain from using artificial flavours and use natural ones, so the next ingredient you need is organic applesauce or banana puree or any other naturally sourced items for taste. Next, you need coconut oil which is again a natural element. Now to spice it up, you need cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla extract and finally aluminium-free baking powder for baking.

Preparation

Now that you have gathered all the ingredients start preparing. Take one cup of oats and roll it with a rolling pin to feel the crunch with every bite. Take another cup of oats and finely grind it in a blender till it gets the consistency of flour. Take the fruit like a banana and mash it with the help of a fork. Take two tablespoons of coconut out. Take half a teaspoon of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract separately. Finally, take one teaspoon of the baking powder.

Mix the dry ingredients first and then add the fruit, in this case, the mashed banana along with the coconut oil and mix them well. At this point, you can use a hand blender or a cake mixer if you have it handy. Now break the mixture, give it different shapes, and put them in a baking tray over a well-greased parchment paper.

Final step

Set your oven at 350℉ and bake the biscuits for 30 to 45 minutes, and do not forget to flip them from time to time so that the biscuits catch the golden brown colour on both sides. Finally, take it out, cool it down and store it in the freezer and cover it.

So here is the recipe, go and put the apron on and start baking. Remember that you may find high-quality biscuits at the store, but you cannot find the love you will put in baking them.
